About Us:
SERP Forge is a growth-focused SEO and marketing agency working with SaaS and digital-first businesses. Our website is a core growth asset not just a brochure.
We’re looking for an expert WordPress Website Developer who can build, maintain, optimize, and evolve our website at a technical level while keeping performance, scalability, and SEO in mind.
This role is for someone who can take full ownership of the site and make high-quality changes without breaking speed, structure, or best practices.
What You’ll Own (Key Responsibilities)
Website Development & Customization
- Build, maintain, and improve SERP Forge’s WordPress website.
- Execute custom-level changes (hooks, templates, custom post types, functions, and styling).
- Work comfortably with custom themes and child themes (not just page builders).
- Implement new sections, landing pages, and layouts based on growth and marketing needs.
Elementor & Gutenberg Expertise
- Advanced usage of Elementor (custom widgets, responsive controls, clean layouts).
- Strong hands-on experience with Gutenberg / Block Editor (custom blocks, reusable patterns).
- Decide the right tool for the job Elementor vs Gutenberg – based on performance and scalability.
Performance, Speed & Stability
- Own website performance: Core Web Vitals, page speed, and overall stability.
- Optimize CSS, JS, images, fonts, and scripts without breaking UX.
- Diagnose and fix speed, rendering, and layout shift issues.
- Ensure fast load times even after feature additions or content updates.
Technical SEO & Best Practices
- Implement SEO-friendly structures (schema, clean URLs, internal linking support).
- Ensure proper handling of indexation, redirects, canonicals, and site health.
- Work closely with SEO and growth teams to support rankings and CRO.
Custom Micro Tools Development (Separate Responsibility)
- Develop custom micro tools (calculators, checkers, generators, internal tools, lead magnets) hosted directly on the SERP Forge website.
- Decide the best implementation approach:
- WordPress-based (custom plugins, shortcodes, blocks)
- Standalone tool pages integrated with WordPress
- Integrate tools with forms, analytics, and lead capture where required.
- Maintain and improve existing tools over time.
Design & UX Ownership (Design-Oriented Development)
- Work closely with design-first thinking, ensuring layouts, spacing, typography, and visual hierarchy are executed with precision.
- Convert Figma designs (or similar design files) into pixel-accurate, responsive WordPress pages.
- Maintain design consistency across pages, templates, and components as the site scales.
- Make informed decisions when translating design into code, balancing visual quality, performance, and usability.
- Optimize layouts for desktop, tablet, and mobile, not just desktop-first designs.
- Ensure clean DOM structure and reusable components to avoid design and layout debt over time.
- Collaborate with founders, marketers, or designers to refine UI/UX based on feedback like “this doesn’t feel right” and turn it into concrete improvements.
- Suggest proactive UX and layout improvements that enhance engagement, readability, and conversion not just visual appeal.
Maintenance & Reliability
- Handle updates (core, plugins, themes) safely.
- Debug issues, fix conflicts, and ensure uptime.
- Maintain staging vs production workflows.
- Ensure site security and backups are in place.
Collaboration & Ownership
- Work closely with the Founder, SEO team, and Marketing team.
- Translate business or growth requirements into clean technical solutions.
- Suggest improvements proactively – not just execute tickets.
